The recruitment test of eight state-run banks held on January 12 has been cancelled.
Bankers' Selection Committee (BSC) on Tuesday, in an emergency meeting in Bangladesh Bank building, took this decision.
After the meeting, GM Abul Kalam Azad, acting spokesman of Bangladesh Bank and also the General Manager of the Department of Communications and Publications, said: “According to the decision of the stirring committee of BSC, the recruitment test for eight banks and financial institutions held on Friday, have been cancelled.
“A probe committee has also been formed to investigate the allegations of mismanagement during the recruitment test. Ahmed Jamal, executive director of Bangladesh Bank, will lead the investigation committee,” he added.
The probe body has been asked to submit the report within two weeks.
After receiving the report, the BSC will fix the new date of the test.
Earlier on Friday, candidates of one centre vandalized Shah Ali Mohila College and blockaded adjacent road as the authorities concerned suspended the examination of the centre.
On January 20, more than 8000 students will retake the exam of Shah Ali Mohila College Centre.
