Bashundhara Group Managing Director (MD) Sayem Sobhan Anvir said Bangladesh needs more Indian investment to reduce the trade deficit between the neighbouring countries.
He made the observation while holding a meeting with business leaders in the office of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi on Monday.
Sayem Sobhan urged the Indian foreign secretary to take fruitful measures in order to ensure stronger trade relations between the two countries.
He also called upon the foreign secretary to come forward in implementing Teesta water sharing agreement between Bangladesh and India, and to take a strong role in resolving ongoing Rohingya crisis.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir, the managing director of Bashundhara Group, one of the leading business conglomerates in the country, is currently in New Delhi on a week-long tour initiated by Bangladesh Media Owners Association.
Meanwhile, a meeting of Bangladesh Media Owners Association will be held with Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh and State Minister for External Affairs MJ Akbar today.
