The founder of Grameen Bank and Nobel Peace Prize winner Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has been booked on alleged charges of fraud on Tuesday.
Bahaudl Islam, the owner of contracting organization Taj Enterprises, has filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Ghosh Shuvo.
Accepting the case, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Ghosh Shuvo has ordered the Pallabi Police Station officer-in-charge in the capital to submit the probe report after completion of the investigation in the case.
Bahaudl Islam’s lawyer Ferdows Ahmed has confirmed the news to journalists.
He said: “The case has been filed against Yunus and three others over the allegation of breaching the faith while filling of the sand and allegation of cheating on paying the bill.”
The three other accused are Grameen Telecom Trust’s Chief Executive Ashraful Hasan and two officials- Jahirul Islam and Asaduzzaman.
