Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today condemned the attack on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzman’s house during the recent quota reform movement.
She demanded exemplary punishment for those who were involved in the attack.
“It is an unprecedented incident and those who were involved in the attack will be brought to justice soon at any rate,” she expressed her firm determination.
She came up with the comments while responding to a supplementary question in the parliament this afternoon.
“Students can’t carry out such attacks on their teachers," she slammed the attackers while addressing the parliament members.
She further said: “The attackers are not eligible to be the students of the university anymore.”
The attackers put on masks and attacked the Dhaka University vice-chancellor's residence on the campus in the wee hours of Monday amid protests demanding reforms to the quota system.
