Freedom fighters, who fought during the country's Liberation War in 1971, have announced a grand rally on April 24 at the now iconic ‘Prajanma Chatttar’ at Shahbagh in Dhaka, protesting the recent quota movement.
These protests and demand for quota reform is actually a conspiracy against the country’s freedom fighters, war of liberation, sovereignty and stability, they claimed.
Former Chairman of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Kendriya Command Council Principal Abdul Ahad Chowdhury made the announcement at a press conference held at the National Press Club in the capital today.
“The quota protesters have insulted the war of liberation and the freedom fighters in the name of the movement,” the written statement reads.
He urged the freedom fighters, their descendants and the countrymen to resist the “conspiracy” with united efforts.
“We will announce the protest programmes against the conspiracy around 2pm at the grand on April 24,” he added.
