Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the government would take strict measure against those who have been involved with illegal drug trading regardless of their political and social identity.
The premier made the comments while addressing a press conference arranged to brief the media about her recent tour of West Bengal in India.
She said: "Strict measures are being taken against illegal drugs business and the government has not been sparing anyone to this end."
"No matter who or how influential he is, he must face action if proof of drug dealing is found against him," she added.
While responding to journalists, she also said: “The government will take necessary steps if any innocent person fall victim to the ongoing war on drug.”
On a two-day official visit Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to the West Bengal on May 25 and she also received Honorary Degree of Doctor of Literature at Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol.
