BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has remained absent in the court set up at the old Dhaka central jail on Nazimuddin Road in Zia Charitable Trust graft case on Wednesday (today).
Judge Md Akhteruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-5 asked the prosecution if the court proceedings would continue in the absence of Khaleda.
The judge then has adjourned the hearing of the case for today after the prosecution informed the court about Khaleda Zia’s unwillingness to appear before it.
“The court will hold a hearing on Thursday (tomorrow) on whether it should continue its proceedings in absence of Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case,” the judge then fixed the date.
Earlier on September 5, appearing before the same court, Khaleda Zia said she won’t appear before the court anymore.
Expressing a lack of confidence in the special court, she, on the day also said: “There is no justice here. Punish me as much as you want, punish me for as long as you want.”
