A Dhaka court has fixed November 14 for holding the charge framing hearing in Niko corruption case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
A makeshift special court at the capital's old Central Jail fixed the date today while the BNP chief was produced before it earlier this morning.
She was taken to the capital's old Central Jail from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the morning.
A Dhaka Metropolitan Police car carrying Khaleda Zia left the hospital premises around 11:30 am.
Security measures in an around the hospital had been beefed up since the morning.
Brig Gen Md. Abdullah-Al-Harun, director (Hospital) Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), later briefed the media on the issue.
He said: "We have examined her [Khaleda] condition and suggested necessary medical treatment. She is stable now."
Earlier, the law ministry issued a gazette notification saying that the trial of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and others accused in the Niko corruption case will be held at a makeshift court in Old Dhaka central jail.
