Jatiya Oikyafront, the newly formed opposition political alliance, today demanded the withdrawal of over 90 top officials in public and police administrations in the country ahead of the national election.
The political alliance has submitted a list of 90 top officials to the Election Commission (EC), demanding their immediate withdrawal before holding the national polls slated to be held on December 30 this year.
A letter signed by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, spokesperson of Oikyafront, was sent to the commission secretariat this afternoon.
BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal after placing the letter said: “We have placed some documents in this regard and sought preventive measures from the EC authorities.”
While responding to journalists, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal also said: “Different city corporations and other government organisations are still carrying out campaigns in favour of the ruling party, Awami League, in the name of development.
“We demanded that the Commission should stop campaigning immediately ahead of the general election,” he said.
