Two Bangladeshi stars- Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyadh- got their teams in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). In the auction held in London last night, two different franchises picked them for their squads.
Barbados Tridents picked Shakib Al Hasan for 130,000 US dollar while Saint-Kitts and Nevis Patriots bought Mahmudullah Riyad at 70,000 US dollar.
Shakib made his CPL debut for Barbados Tridents in the first addition where he took 11 wickets in 8 matches including the record 6 for 6 runs. But he failed with the bat, making only 22 runs in six innings. Bangladeshi all-rounder played for Jamaica Tallahawes in last two seasons.
Mahmudullah Riyad played for Jamaica as a replacement of Shakib. He made only 11 runs in four innings and took three wickets in 11 overs.
Trinbago Knight Riders clinched the CPL title beating St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 3 wickets last year. The sixth edition of CPL will start in July this year.
