Ryan Lyall Cook
Newly appointed fielding coach of the Bangladesh cricket team Ryan Lyall Cook is expected to join the team during the series-decider second Test against West Indies in Jamaica on Friday.
Cook will work with the team until the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed his appointment on Wednesday.
Cook is joining the team when it is trying to recover from a massive innings and 219-run loss at the hands of the Windies in the first Test, where the visitors were bowled out for their lowest-ever Test total of 43.
The second and final Test of a two-match series against the Windies is beginning at Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica on Thursday.
South African Cook replaced the Tigers interim coach Sohel Islam who was appointed after Richard Halsall.
Cook last served as the Head Coach and High Performance Director of Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy, and was also the assistant coach at Hobart Hurricanes, a Big Bash League franchise.
He served as the assistant coach of South Africa ‘A’ and South Africa Under-19 teams during the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016 in Bangladesh.
