Bangladesh set a 144-run target for the world champion West Indies in the first T20I of the three-match series at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.
Puting into bat first, Bangladesh lost Tamim and Soumya in the very first over. Liton Das and Shakib bailed them out of the iffy situation but the duo failed to kick-on, despite getting a start.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah powered the innings. The scoring rate was pretty brisk for the Tigers. After first 10 overs, Bangladesh were at 95 for 5.
Mahmudullah was the best of the Bangladeshi batsmen, scoring 35 off 27 while Liton Das scored 24 runs.
For the Windies Kesrick Williams took 4 wickets.
