Bangladesh national cricket team, without some key players, will return home Thursday (Aug 9) at 8:40 am after a successful mission in the West Indies and the United States of America.
Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh team smartly won their first-ever away T20 series against any major cricket playing nation beating West Indies by 2-1, both in Florida after losing the first T20 in St Kitts, reports UNB.
After whitewashed in the three-match Test series against the hosts Caribbeans featuring, one of their ever-worse performances, Tigers most successful captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza joined the Bangladesh team in the three-match ODI squad and clinched the ODI series 2-1 boosting-up the morale of the Bangladeshi cricketers.
The Tigers are expected to reach at the Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport at 8:40 am by an Emirate flight with their five best performers--ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad.
ODI captain Mashrafe went to the United States with his family after the ODI series, he is expected to return home in the middle of this month.
Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan toured West Indies and USA with his family and he may stay few more days in USA.
Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and former national skipper Mushfiqur Rahim also likely to stay few more days in USA to spend the vacation while batting all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad went back to West Indies to play in the Caribbean Premier League for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots before the Asia Cup Cricket.
