Fakhrul said: "The notice demanded an unconditional apology from the PM for her remarks against Khaleda Zia and her family members within 30 days. Otherwise, the party will file a defamation suit."

He further said: "We warned that BNP will take legal action if the Awami League leaders fail to prove the allegations that the PM brought against our party chief and her family during a press conference. As they could not show any authentic document in this regard, we sent the legal notice on Tuesday."

Recently, quoting a report of a foreign Media, a number of news outlets in Bangladesh published a news on Khaleda Zia and her family members over the alleged involvement with overseas investment.

Responding the legal notice Finance Minister AMA Muhith and also the Awami League leader said: “The prime minister has complained about the illegal assets of her (Khaleda Zia) family as there is enough information behind her and she can prove it.”
