Two training aircrafts of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) have crashed after collision in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday evening.
Assistant Director of Inter Service Public Relations Rezaul Karim said two Yak-130 type BAF training aircraft collided in midair around 6:30 pm. “The two aircraft slammed on the ground following the collision,” he said.
Rezaul also said two pilots and as many copilots of the two aircraft managed to come down safely pulling up their parachutes.
Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) Director Lt Col Rashidul Hasan said two BAF training aircrafts with four crew members lost connection with RADAR around 6:15pm.
Of the crew members, one has been found till filing the report at 8pm. Search for other three is underway.
The two wrecked aircraft were found in Palpara and Komponia hilly areas, assistant superintendent of police of Cox's Bazar Shahidul Islam said.
