The ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route of Padma River have been resumed around 10am on Monday, after more than three hours of disruption caused by dense fog.
Nasir Mohammad Choudhury, assistant general manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha office has confirmed the news.
He said: “Due to dense fog here at the Paturia-Daulatdia route, the ferry services were disrupted from 6am to 10am today.”
Nasir also said: “Different ferries in Paturia ghat and Daulatdia ghat remained stranded while hundreds of other vehicles were waiting on both sides for crossing the river causing immense suffering to the commuters.”
“When the dense fog was disappeared, the ferry services were resumed after 10 am,” he further said.
