The ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the country have been resumed around 10.15am after seven hours of disruption caused by dense fog on Monday.
Sources from the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha office have confirmed the news.
Due to dense fog at the Paturia-Daulatdia ghat area, the ferry services were halted around 3:30am.
Sources said: “Different ferries in Paturia ghat stranded while hundreds of other vehicles were waiting on both sides for crossing the river causing immense suffering to the commuters.”
Paturia ghat Assistant Manager Mohiuddin Rasel said: "The ferry services were suspended around 3:30am due to poor visibility caused by thick fog."
He said: “The ferry services have been resumed when the dense fog is disappeared."
