Four tobacco farmers rescued in Bandarban

Four tobacco farmers, who were kidnapped from Naikhangchhari in Bandarban were rescued, a week later, from a forest of Chakpara hills of the Baishari Union under Naikhangchhari of Bandarban on Friday night. Eight people were arrested in this connection.

Baishari Police Investigation Center Sub Inspector Abu Musa said: “Joint forces of police and BGB rescued four tobacco farmers from the forest of Chakpara hills of Baishari Union after 7 days of abduction.”

It is to be noted, on January 20, the terrorists kidnapped four tobacco farmers at gunpoint from a farm in Ladukhal area of Dochari-Baishari under the upazila and demanded Tk eight lakh as ransom.
