Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said that her government has eliminated terrorism across the country with iron hands.
Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League, came up with the comment while addressing a public meeting organized by Sylhet District Awami League on Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa ground, this afternoon.
She said: “Awami League believes in development as we want the country to be developed and prosperous.”
“During the tenure of AL-led government, we have worked to change the fortune of the countrymen and we are pursuing politics for changing people's fortune in the country,” she pointed her government’s different development projects.
While addressing the programme she also said: “In our tenure, we made Bangladesh a digital one while the BNP-led 20-party alliance was involved in mass-killing.”
During her speech, Sheikh Hasina also sought votes for Awami League candidates to reelect the party in the next national polls.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the prime minister landed at MAG Osmani International Airport around 10:40am on Tuesday (today).
After reaching Sylhet, she offered Ziarat at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA), Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) and Hazrat Gazi Borhan Uddin (RA) in the city.
She also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 35 development projects in Sylhet during her visit there.
