Head-on collision kills four in Gopalganj

At least four people have been killed and 14 others injured when a bus and a pickup van collided head-on in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Tuesday noon.

The deceased are- pickup van driver Shahjahan Sheikh, 45, son of Ruku Sheikh, helper Nayan Mollah, 25, son of Nazrul Mollah, Shohag Mia, 28 and Shilpi Samaddar, 50.

The Kashiani and the Moksudpur Zone Assistant Police Super Hossain Mohammad Rayhan has confirmed the news.

Kashiani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizur Rahman said: "A bus of Boleshwar Paribahan from Dhaka collided head-on with a pickup van at Kashiani Bus Station area on Dhaka-Khulna highway around 1pm, leaving two people killed on the spot and 15 others injured.

"The injured were admitted to the Gopalganj General Hospital and Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where two others succumbed to their injuries,” the OC further said.
