BCL leader stabbed in Jessore

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was injured in a knife attack in Nilganj Bridge area in the district town on Friday night.

The victim was identified as Rakib Hasan, 28, joint-secretary of Government City College unit of BCL and son of Jakir Hossain of Shahpara of the town, reports UNB.

Witnesses said some miscreants numbering 3/4 swooped on Rakib and stabbed him indiscriminately around 7:30pm.

Later, locals rescued him and sent to Jessore General Hospital from where he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

Confirming the incident, Asaduzzaman, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, said drives were going on to arrest the culprits who were involved with the incident.

However, followers of Rakib staged demonstration in front of Jessore General Hospital protesting the attacked.
