President M Abdul Hamid is set to visit Khulna to attend several programmes at Mongla Port and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).
"The President will leave Dhaka tomorrow (Wednesday) for a two-day visit to attend the third convocation of KUET and visit Mongla Port here," President's Press Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin said, reports BSS.
The helicopter, carrying the President, is scheduled to leave Dhaka in the afternoon. Hamid will attend the KUET convocation at 3 pm tomorrow.
President Hamid, also the Chancellor of the university, will preside over the convocation on the university premises while University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Professor Abdul Mannan will be the special guest on the occasion.
Noted scientist and educationist Prof Dr Mohammad Ali Asgar will be present as the convocation speaker.
In the evening, President Hamid will address a programme of the 67th founding anniversary of Mongla Port authority as the chief guest on the day.
He is also scheduled to inaugurate some development projects during the visit.
The President will return to Dhaka from Khulna on Thursday evening.
Earlier this afternoon, the President came back Dhaka wrapping up his another two-day tour at Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project sites located in Munshiganj and Shariatpur areas.
