Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader has accused BNP-Jamaat of killings and other recent incidents in the hilly districts of Rangamati and Khagrhachharhi.
Quader and also the road transport and bridges minister came up with the comment while addressing party leaders and activists at a programme held at the port city organized by the Chattagram City Awami League on Saturday morning.
“BNP and Jamaat men are behind these incidents and murders,” he continued. “We have information that the leaders of BNP and Jamaat are behind the killings.”
The minister earlier also said what happened in the hilly districts of Rangamati and Khagrhachharhi are not isolated incidents.
Chattagram City Awami League acting president Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury presided over the programme while Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam spoke, among others.
The bodies of five people, who were shot dead on their way to attend the funeral of slain Naniarchar chairman Shaktiman Chakma, have been handed over to their family members on Friday.
They were killed when miscreants opened fire on a microbus full of political leaders and activists headed for Hugurmara area to attend the funeral of Shaktiman yesterday afternoon.
