Two physicians of Max Hospital in Chattogram have been fired from their posts over their proved negligence in the treatment of the ill-fated minor girl Raifa Khan.

Our correspondent from the port city has confirmed this on Saturday afternoon.

The sacked physicians are- Dr Debashish Sengupta and Dr Shuvra Deb.

As the probe committee formed in this connection found their negligence in the treatment of Raifa, they have been fired from the hospital, the hospital sources said.

Raifa Khan, 3, daughter of the daily Samakal journalist Rubel Khan, died at the hospital allegedly due to wrong treatment on June 29 (Friday).

Earlier, the probe committee that was formed over the death of three-year-old Raifa Khan has found 11 irregularities at Max Hospital.

The major irregularities are-- the licence renewal procedure was not proper, the physicians and nurses were not appointed as per the rule, the hospital doesn't have information of employees, it runs an unapproved pathological lab,  and doesn't have any blood bank.

The report also recommended that the hospital authorities be served a 15-day ultimatum to rectify their irregularities or face closure.
