Voting ends in Kurigram-3 by-polls

Voting in the by-election to Kurigram-3 constituency was ended on Wednesday afternoon (today) in a peaceful manner with no untoward incidents reported.

The voting that started around 8 am continued till 4 pm without any break.

Returning Officer GM Shahtab Uddin has confirmed the news.

In Kurigram-3 constituency by-polls, around 363,075 voters have expectedly exercised their voting rights in a total of 159 polling stations, the RO also said.

Over 3,000 security personnel, including 2,300 police members, 34 members of RAB and 263 BGB men have been deployed to check any untoward incidents in the polling areas today.

The by-election to this constituency was held as it felt vacant after Jatiya Party lawmaker AKM Maidul Islam died on May 11.
