Water levels in 41 rivers rise, 48 fall

Water levels at 41 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 48 stations recorded fall.

Among the 94 monitored stations, four river stations have been registered Steady, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and Padma rivers are in steady state which may remain steady in next 24 hours, the bulletin added, reports BSS.

The Ganges is in rising trend which may continue rising in next 48 hours while the major rivers of upper Meghna basin in the North-Eastern region are in rising trend which may continue rising in next 24-hour.

Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.

A total of 97 millimetres (mm) rainfall was recorded at Moheshhola, 86mm at Barguna, 82mm at Teknaf, 79mm at Larma, 76mm at Cox’s Bazar, 66mm at Rohanpur, 58mm at Patuakhali, 56mm at Ramgarh, 55mm at Rajshahi and 50mm at Narayanhat.
