The death toll in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha road crash rose to six this morning, police officials said.
At least six people were killed and over ten others also received injuries in a head-on collision between a bus and truck at Palashbari upazila in the district on Friday night.
The deceased are yet to be identified.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Highway Police Station Abdul Bashar has confirmed the news.
“The accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus collided head-on with a goods-laden truck on Gaibandha-Palashbari road in the area around 12:30 am, leaving four people killed on the spot and injuring ten others,” he added.
“Two others also succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a local hospital there,” Mostafizur Rahman, Palashbari Police Station acting officer-in-charge, has said.
He said further: “The drivers and the helpers of the two vehicles managed to escape after the incident.”
The bodies were sent to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital for medical examination while the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital and Palashbari Health Complex for treatment.
