BNP candidate Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan won Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail-Ashuganj) constituency in the reelection for the 11th general election.
He unofficially bagged 83, 997 votes with the BNP’s election symbol “Sheaf of Paddy” while his nearest Awami League rebel candidate (independent) Moinuddin Moin got 75, 419 votes in the Wednesday’s vote.
The voting was taken place from 8am to 4pm.
Earlier on December 30, the Election Commission decided to hold polls in the three polling centres in Brahmanbaria-2 constituency on January 9 (today), where voting had been suspended due to various irregularities during the recently held national election.
The three centres are--- Jatrapur Government Primary School, Bahadurpur Government Primary School, and Sohagpur South Government Primary School in the constituency.
