Titumir College student Rajib Hossain, who lost his right arm in a road accident involving buses from the BRTC and Swajan Paribahan and succumbed to his injuries on Monday night, will be buried at the family graveyard in Patuakhali.

Rajib’s relatives have confirmed the news to journalists.

Rajib Hossain was declared dead around 12:40am in the night while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said DMCH Police Outpost In-charge Bacchu Mia.

Rajib, 22, a third-year student of Government Titumir College lost his right arm after it was sandwiched between two speeding buses trying to overtake each other on April 3.

He was admitted to Samorita Hospital immediately after the incident. He later shifted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) the following day.

On April 4, the High Court directed the BRTC and Swajan Paribahan authorities to bear all the treatment cost Rajib.

The court also issued a rule asking the government and the bus owners to explain why they should not be directed to give Tk1 crore to Rajib Hossain in compensation.
