Noted singer S I Tutul on Sunday paid tribute to renewed late singer Ayub Bachchu and remembered that the legendary singer had given birth him in the music world.
The singer came up with the comment while talking with journalists at a milad-mahfil program on the demise of Ayub Bachchu held at late singer’s studio, AB Kitchen in the capital.
He said: “In my life, Ayub Bachchu was another father who gave me birth in the music industry.”
“He (Ayub Bachchu) was my guru (teacher). He was an emotional person and his emotion hurt him a lot in his life,” he further said.
“I pray for the departed soul,” the Bangladeshi singer and musician told journalists.
Ayub Bachchu and also the founder of the country's one of the leading bands, LRB, passed away on October 18. He was 60.
He breathed his last in the capital's Square Hospitals around 10 am on the day.
According to family sources, he was found unconscious inside his room in the capital's Moghbazar area on the day morning and was rushed to the hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held on Friday in the capital when people from all walks of life paid their last tributes to the great soul.
He was buried beside his mother at the family graveyard in Chattogram on Saturday.
Born in Chattogram, the popular singer started his music career there with the band, Feelings, in 1978. He was a member of Souls as lead guitarist from 1980 to 1990. In 1991, he formed his own band, LRB.
LRB released its first album containing hard rock songs like "Madhobi" "Hoker" "Sesh Cithi keno amon Cithi hoy" "Happy" and "Dhakar Sondha".
