Bangladesh will square off against Bhutan in the SAFF Championship at 3:15pm (BST) at Sahid Rangashala Stadium in Biratnagar, Nepal on Thursday.
Bangladesh national women’s team skipper Sabina Khatun has stated her team is ready and prepared to take on Bhutan in their first match of the SAFF Women’s Championship 2019.
Skipper Sabina Khatun said, “Our preparations have been focused on winning our first game. This is our priority.”
Ahead of the match, Bangladesh women’s national team vice-captain Mossamat Mishrat Jahan Moushumi has said that her team is only thinking about the first match against Bhutan as of now.
The deputy to skipper Sabina Khatun made the statement on Wednesday following a training session in the morning.“We have only the first game in our minds. We want to produce a performance which allows us to reach our objective,” said Moushumi.
Summing up his players’ comments, head coach Golam Rabbani Choton said, “The players are looking forward to our first game. The SAFF Championship is a special competition for us all.”
Bangladesh team enjoyed a light training session ahead of the match at the match venue Wednesday morning.
Surrounded by a large contingent of media personnel and journalists, the team rehearsed some of their set play tactics and game plans.
The Bangladesh players are excited and looking forward to their first with hope, professionalism and real focus.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the Bangladesh team, staff and officials travelled to observe the opening ceremony and first match between Bhutan and hosts Nepal in which the hosts won 3-0.
Bangladesh talented young defender Aki Khatun mentioned “We enjoyed the opening first game it was an interesting occasion and we are all looking forward to starting our campaign in the tournament.”
