At least ten persons have been killed and over 50 others injured in an incident of stampede at the kulkhwani of former Chittagong mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury. At least 80,000 people of all communities were invited to the event.

08:30pm: The family members of the late politician announced that they will give Tk 5000 to each of the families of the deceased as costs of funeral.
08:00pm: The deceased are-- Krishnapada Das, 35, Sudhir Das, 40, Dipankar Das Rahul, 23, Pradip Talukdar, 55, Jhantu Das, 45, Dhana Shil, 50, Titu Das, 30, Liton Deb, 50, Alak Bhoumik, 36, and Ashish Barua.
07:30pm: ABM Mohiuddin's son and also the Organising Secretary of Awami League Central Committee, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, said he will bear all treatment cost of the injured people until their complete recovery.
05:40pm: A student of Chittagong University died in the incident of stampede.The deceased is Dipankar Das Rahul, a third-year student of History Department of the university and also a Chhatra League member.
04:00pm: ABM Mohiuddin's son and also the Organising Secretary of Awami League Central Committee, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, burst into tears while visiting the injured in the hospital.
03:50pm: The local administration has announced that each of the victim's families would get Tk 100,000 as compensation.
03:20pm: Faysal Iqbal, a top leader of the city unit Doctors Association of Bangladesh, said: "At least 50 people have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. We are trying to ensure proper treatment for the injured."
03:00pm: Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury confirmed the casualties. “The death toll may rise further,” he added.
02:45pm: Kalerkantho's Chittagong Staff Reporter Nupur Kanti Dev, who was present on the spot during the incident, said all the dead persons were men. They died while scurrying into the community centre.
02:30pm: The incident occurred at Rima Community Centre in the port city’s Jamal Khan area around 1pm. This was one among the 11 venues where the kulkhwani of the ruling party leader was arranged. This hall was specially booked for the Hindu community people.
