Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) has invited Bangladeshi filmmakers to submit their films by September 20 for Oscar consideration in the ‘Foreign Language Film Award’ category at the 90th Academy Awards.
The BFFS has already formed a nine-member Oscar Bangladesh Committee to select a Bangladeshi film with renowned film personality Habibur Rahman Khan in the chair.
Films released after October 1, 2016, and screened at a theatre continuously for a week will be eligible to apply. But, it should be subtitled in English.
The forms and detailed rules of submission are available at Hasan Holding, 9th floor, 52/1 New Eskaton, Dhaka.
The committee will choose one film as Bangladesh’s official submission for their ‘Foreign Language Film Award.’
A foreign language film is defined as a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States of America with a predominantly non-English dialogue track.
