“Doob”, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's much-anticipated film, is set to release on October 27, however the first full trailer of the film will be launched on September 27.
The trailer will be released on Jaaz Multimedia’s YouTube channel, announced the largest film production company in Bangladesh.
Prominent Indian actor Irrfan Khan plays the lead role in the film, with Nusrat Imroz Tisha opposite him. The other members of the central cast are--Rokeya Prachi and Kolkata’s Parno Mitra.
A private screening of the film was earlier held at Irrfan’s house while the full film is set to be released in Bangladesh, India and North America/Australia/UK simultaneously.
The film went into production in March 2016 and in November a Kolkata-based newspaper reported that it was based on Bangladeshi novelist Humayun Ahmed's life.
Soon after the news was published, Humayun Ahmed's wife Meher Afroz Shaon expressed deep concern over the matter, saying that it may affect the image of the noted writer.
However, it was issued no-objection certificate by Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on February 15 while the BFDC suspended it on February 16 after receiving a letter from Shaon, asking the censor board to review it for such instances and take action.
After a long wait, the film finally got censor clearance in Bangladesh on August 8 this year.
Despite various hurdles, the film got international recognition after it was premiered at the Shanghai International Film Festival 2017.
The India-Bangladesh co-production movie won the Kommersant Jury Prize at the 39th Moscow International Film Festival.
