The fourth installment of Dhaka International Folk Fest, the pioneering international folk music festival in the country, will take place from November 15 to November 17 at the Army Stadium situated in the capital.
The three-day festival will take place every day from 6 pm to 12 am. A total of 174 artistes from seven countries, including Bangladesh are gathering in one stage to celebrate the music of the heart.
Maestro artistes like Momotaz Begom, Baul Abdul Hai Dewan, Baul Kabir Shah, Arnob, Nakshikatha, Swarobanjo, and Bhabna Nritya Dol will be performing from Bangladesh. Wadali Brothers, The Raghu Dixit Project, Satyaki Banerjee from India; Shafqat Amanat Ali from Pakistan; Majaz from Bahrain, Grammy award winner Los Texmaniacs from the USA, Dikanda from Poland and Las Migas from Spain will come to this bustling city to celebrate the spirit of folk music.
Since 2015, Sun Events and Maasranga Television have jointly been organising the programme with a motive to introduce the centuries-old folk music of the country to the world.
Like the previous installments of the festival, Dhaka International Folk Fest 2018 is also expected to be kept open for all; however, visitors need to register online at dhakainternationalfolkfest.com for entry passes, which will open tomorrow.
The organisers informed that any updates regarding the event will be posted on the event’s Facebook page, Dhaka International Folk Fest.
