Bengal Classical Music Festival, which was cancelled earlier because of the unavailability of the space, will now be held at Dhanmondi's Abahani playground.
The five-day music festival will start on December 26, said Abul Khair, chairman of Bengal Foundation.
He said: "The event will continue until December 30 and most of the classical artistes, who are participating regularly, will attend the fest this year."
"We were planning to stage the programme at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Later, we changed the plan because of some unavoidable issues," he added.
Now the music festival will be held at Abahani playground and the authorities have already given the approval, Mr Khair said. "Details regarding the matter will be disclosed later in a press conference."
Earlier, Bengal Foundation cancelled the festival as the organisers failed to manage the venue confirmation of the sixth edition of the popular event.
On August 31, the Army Sports Control Board (ASCB) had denied allotment of the Army Stadium from November 20-28 to Bengal Foundation, citing the arrival of the Pope to Bangladesh at the time.
Bengal Classical Music Festival, the biggest classical music festival in the world, had been growing in popularity over the last five years.
Audiences have swelled in great numbers to enjoy the performances of the greatest artistes of Indian Classical Music.
