The Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said that the commission had not yet taken any decision officially about the deployment of the army during the eleventh parliamentary election.
He came up with the disclosure while talking to journalists in the capital.
The Chief Election Commissioner said: “We have to amend two orders and the provision of the Constitution before the deployment of army in the polls. No decision has been officially taken in this regard.”
“Experimentally the election commission will set up the electronic voting machine [EVM] to examine the effectiveness of the system in upcoming Rangpur City Corporation Election,” he added.
Earlier on Monday, Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder announced that the members of Bangladesh Army would be deployed during the next parliamentary election.
