Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has announced that the 4G services can be launch by March this year.
BTRC Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood made the statement while addressing a programme on Sunday.
He said: "As now there is no legal bar to circulate the spectrum auctioning, the telecom regulator is hopeful of launching it in March and all the mobile phone operators have been informed in this regard."
"They can offer the services to the customers once all the formalities in completed," he added.
BTRC has got five applications from different mobile phone operations, seeking the 4G license.
The authorities have already formed two separate committees to evaluate the applications. The qualifiers will be announced on January 25 while the mock auction will be held on February 12.
