Three people, including two government officials, who earlier reportedly went missing, have been picked up by the members of Detective Branch of Police.
Confirming the news, Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said: "Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid's personal officer Motaleb Hossain, Education Ministry's upper division assistant (UDA) Md Nasiruddin and Lakehead Grammar School's owner Khaled Hassan Matin are now in the custody of the detectives."
He, however, did not disclose the reason behind the detention.
According to sources, the detectives picked Nasiruddin up along with Tk130,000 from the capital's Gulshan area on Thursday. Acting on the information provided by him, the DB members later detained Motaleb.
Nothing could be known regarding the detention of Matin.
Family members filed a missing diary with Banani Police Station over the "disappearance" of Nasiruddin on Thursday night while a GD was filed with Hazaribagh Police Station on Saturday in connection with the "missing" of Motaleb.
