Dawn-to-dusk hartal underway in Rangamati

A dawn-to-dusk hartal enforced by the district unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) protesting the attack on its Assistant Secretary Supayon Chakma is underway in the district on Tuesday. 

Due to the shutdown, all business establishments, educational institutions remained closed since the morning while public transports are not playing.

However, the candidates of the SSC examination were kept out of the hartal, according to Kalerkantho Bangla version.

Rangamati Police Superintendent Abu Sayeed said: “The situation is under full control of the law enforcers. No unexpected news have been found centring the hartal.” 

Earlier on Monday, leaders and supporters of Chhatra League blockaded roads protesting the attack on its leader Supayan Chakma who was allegedly assaulted by the activists of Pahari Chhatra Parishad in Rangamati town.
