Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kaman said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who is in jail after being convicted in Zia Orphanage Trust Graft Case, was not shown arrested in any other cases.
He came up with the remarks while replying to queries of journalists at his office in Secretariat in the capital today.
The Minister said: “BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has not been shown arrested but two separate arrest warrants were issued by the courts. Khaleda Zia can appear before courts if she is summoned.”
On February 8, former prime minister Khaleda Zia was sent to jail in Dhaka after she was handed down a five years’ rigorous imprisonment in the graft case.
