The certified copy of Zia Orphanage Trust graft case verdict, which convicted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, is likely to be issued tomorrow.
According to a confidential source of the court, it was likely to be issued on Wednesday afternoon as the work of preparing the certified copy of the much-talked verdict was going on swiftly.
It was expected to be delivered by 4pm on Wednesday, however, it is yet to be completed.
The lawyers of Khaleda Zia will file an appeal challenging the special court verdict on Thursday if the copy of the verdict is released on the day.
They will also seek immediate bail of the BNP chief, BNP Chairperson’s Lawyer Sanaullah Miah said.
Earlier in the day, he said: “We will go to the court to get the copy of the verdict of Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. We will appeal to the High Court tomorrow if we avail the copy today.”
Earlier on February 8, BNP Chief Khaleda Zia was handed down 5 years of imprisonment and sent to the Old Central Jail in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
