A legal notice has been served to President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina seeking the Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid's removal over the question paper leak issue.

Supreme Court Lawyer Advocate Eunus Ali Akond sent the legal notice, requesting the PM to advise the president to terminate the education minister under article 58 (1) (A) (C)(2) of the constitution.

In the notice, he stated that the education minister has failed to prevent the question paper leak in recent Primary School Certificate (PSC), Junior School Certificate (JSC), Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and High Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examinations.

Therefore, Nahid must resign from his position as he has no right to hold it.

He also said he will file a writ petition with the High Court seeking necessary directives if any step is not taken in this regard within next 24 hours.

Akond also requested the president and PM to replace Nahid with a person, who is not a parliament member and has outstanding competent in the education sector under article 56 (2) of the constitution.
