Supporters of ruling Awami League have occupied several polling centres in Khulna City Corporation elections, BNP nominated mayor aspirant Nazrul Islam Monju alleged this morning.

He came up with the allegation after casting  his vote this morning.

Najrul Islam Manju said: "Polling agents of BNP have been beaten by the supporters of Awami League in seven wards. All polling centres in ward no.25 are marked as the riskiest ones and more numbers of members of law enforcing agencies should be deployed there."

"I will abide by the election results if the Election Commission ensures a free and fair election. I request the city dwellers to cast their votes without any fear," he added.

Voting has begun in Khulna City Corporation (KCC) from today morning in all 41 wards.

The voting started at 8:00am on Tuesday which will continue till 4:00pm without any break amid tight security and festivity.
