Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has refused the results of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) polls bringing allegations of massive irregularities.
BNP Joint Senior Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement at a press conference at party’s central office in the capital on Wednesday.
The BNP leader said: “We rejected the results as Awami League-nominated candidates committed unprecedented vote robbery in the KCC polls with the help of police. The Election Commissioner should resign from his post as he failed to organise a free and fair election in the city.”
Awami League-nominated aspirant Talukder Abdul Khalek was declared elected as the mayor of Khulna City Corporation defeating his four others contestants yesterday.
