BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has filed three separate petitions with the High Court seeking bail in three cases.
The pleas were filed this afternoon and the HC is likely to hold hearings in this regard tomorrow.
Of the cases, two had been filed in Cumilla in connection with the vandalism of vehicles on January 25, 2015 and an arson attack on a bus that killed seven people on February 2, 2015 while another case was filed with a Narail court on September 24, 2015, for defaming freedom fighters and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Earlier on May 16, the SC upheld an HC order that granted bail to Khaleda for four months in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case in which she was sentenced to five years imprisonment.
She, however, could not get released from the jail as she is shown arrested in seven other cases including the three.
