Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will visit her constituency Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) today.
The Speaker will reach Pirganj by road at noon from the capital city and will take part in separate programmes before leaving Pirganj for Dhaka at night on the same day, officials and local Awami League (AL) leaders said.
Dr Chaudhury will attend a function to be arranged by the district unit of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha at Pirganj upazila parisahd auditorium as the chief guest at 4.30 pm and distribute stipends to 200 female trainees on completion of training on different trades.
Later, she will attend a discussion to be arranged by Pirganj upazila Awami League (AL) in memory of departed leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies on Kochhimon Nesa Girls' High School ground in Pirganj town at 5.30 pm as the chief guest.
The discussion will be followed by a doa mahfil and Iftar party.
Later, the Speaker will leave Pirganj for the capital city by road at night.
General Secretary of Pirganj upazila AL and Mayor of Pirganj municipality Tazimul Islam Shamim and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kamal Kumar Ghosh said all preparations have been completed to make the Speaker's visit to Pirganj successful.
