The moderate rainfall has disrupted the normal life in Dhaka city again as most of the roads in different parts of the capital went under water, causing much suffering to city dwellers on Thursday.
Commuters, mainly the office goers are suffering much for the rain since early in the day as the rainfall has been started around 6am in the city.
The heavy rainfalls associated with thunderstorms have continued till 9am today and after that, intermittent rain and drizzling are continuing with disrupting the normal life for commuters.
Our correspondents report roads, lanes, and bi-lanes in capital’s Rampura, Motijheel, Farmgate, Manik Mia Avenue, Dhanmondi, Tejturi Bazar, Agargaon, Mirpur, Kazipara, Begum Rokeya Sarani, Shantinagar, Rayerbazar, Jatrabari and some other lower-lying areas were inundated by the heavy rains.
Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country in next 24 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The outlook for next 72 hrs: Southwest monsoon may advance up to Teknaf cost and rain or thundershowers is likely to continue.
