President M Abdul Hamid today congratulated Bangladesh women cricket team for achieving a historical victory over India by three wickets in the Asia Cup T-20 cricket final at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Bangladesh defeat India by three wickets in the final of the T20 Asia Cup to clinch a memorable victory. Batting first, India scored 112 runs for 9 in 20 over and in reply, Bangladesh scored 113 runs for 7 in 20 overs, according to BSS report.
In a congratulating message, President Hamid greeted all the players, coach and officials of the national women cricket team as well as officials of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) concerned with the T20 Asia Cup team.
“The women cricket team has brightened the image of Bangladesh in the world arena . . . I’m really proud of their team spirit and their tremendous success,” he said.
The President hoped that the Bangladesh cricket team would continue its winning spree in days to come.
