The throat-slit body of the son of martyred journalist Selina Parvin, Shumon Zahid, has been recovered from the capital's Khilgaon area.
Zahid, also a witness of a case filled in connection with the killing of intellectuals in December 1971, was spotted dead near the railway tracks in Shahjahanpur Bagicha area around 10:00am.
Confirming the news, Dhaka Railway Police Station OC Yasin Faruk said: "Family members claimed that he might have been killed for being a witness in a case of war crimes. He received threats several times earlier."
Zahid gave his deposition in a case filed against Al-Badr leaders Chowdhury Mueen Uddin and Ashrafuzzaman Khan, who were awarded death penalty in 2013.
They were tried in absentia as Mueen is now in the UK and Ashraf in the US.
